On Sunday, July 20, 2025, faith leaders, technologists and others gathered virtually for the highly anticipated online programme “Church and AI,” presented by Jamaican Rohan Smith. The event offered an exploration of how artificial intelligence can reshape the landscape of ministry, outreach, and spiritual education.
Rohan Smith is a respected voice in digital ministry and began by emphasising that AI is not a threat to the church, but a tool that, when used wisely, can amplify its mission. “AI can streamline operations, enhance content creation, and foster deeper community engagement,” Smith explained, setting the tone for a practical and inspiring discussion.
Throughout the programme, Smith outlined several areas where AI is already making a meaningful impact in the Church. “AI is a tool,” Smith reminded viewers, “but the Spirit is the guide.” The programme concluded with a call to action that churches must embrace AI thoughtfully, guided by spiritual discernment and a commitment to community.
