Over 300 gathered for this year's Elders Equipping Conference at the University of the Caribbean for the South Caribbean Conference Ministerial Department one-day program. The event was held on Sabbath, 24th February 2024. This event marked a return to in-person gatherings for the Ministerial community after the pandemic hiatus, drawing nearly 350 registered attendees.

The theme, "Advancing the Mission: One Voice, One Mind," seems to have resonated with attendees, evidenced by the strong turnout. The initial registration surpassed 200 participants, with the final number exceeding 300. This response showcased the eagerness of Elders and Ministerial staff to reconnect, share experiences, and strengthen their commitment to the Church's mission.

The conference presenters included Ministerial Director Pastor David Holder and began with greetings and welcome for the Conference President, Pastor Leslie Moses.  Their presence, along with the participation of conference staff, administrators, and pastors, showed there is strong leadership support for this annual event.

A series of presentations formed the core of the conference.  Pastor Bertie Henry, Treasurer of the Caribbean Union Conference, ignited a passion for mission work with his address.  Pastor Moses delved into the vital role of Elders, while Pastor Royston Philbert, Communication Director for the Caribbean Union Conference, offered a "Prescription for Ministry Success."  These sessions sparked reflection, discussion, and a renewed sense of purpose for Gospel Ministry among attendees. Pastor Holder and his wife, Sis Denise Holder, further enriched the program with inspiring presentations on "Anointed and the Mission" and "Hospitality and the Mission," respectively.

The SCC staff deserves recognition for their support for this program. Over 25 staff members, administrators, and pastors provided invaluable assistance, ensuring the smooth operation of the conference.  While the program wasn't streamed live, Sis Heather Scipio, Ministerial Department Secretary, indicated it was recorded. We encourage all who were not able to attend, to review the day's program, whenever it becomes available.

The Elders Equipping Conference is one of the major events on the conference Calendar. Let us continue to encourage our leaders in the work of Gospel Ministry working through unity and dedication, under the leadership of our Heavenly Father.
