Operation Rescue Mission celebrates 20 years
POSTED : 25 Sep 2020
Under the theme "In Times Like These", Operation Rescue Mission held a Consecration Service on Sabbath, September 12,2020.
Launch in September 2000, Operation Rescue Mission is an outreach ministry offering a local weekly radio program. The ministry was started by the late Arthur Ghanny of the Curepe Seventh-day Adventist Church and is largely supported by free-will offering and contributions. Before his passing, visitors to the Curepe Church would often hear Bro Ghanny describe the ministry as having a strong emphasis on outreach to the local Muslim community. It is a testament to his vision that the ministry is still a strong and vibrant one.
The featured address of the Consecration service was delivered by Dr Kern Tobias, president of the Caribbean Union Conference. In his address, the union president declared that 'the team was small but the commitment and enthusiasm were large'. Pastor Tobias also reminded listeners of the words of the song In times like these, reminding listeners that 'Jesus provides support in times like these, times of difficulties, death, destruction' and your anchor holds.
Operation Rescue Mission offers one of several radio programs provided by ministries and groups in the South Caribbean Conference. The Consecration program can be found on the SCC's YouTube channel.
We thank God for his continued leading in this ministry and encourage members to support with your prayers and means.
