Devotional Speakers SCC Session
“Sustained by His Grace” was the theme chosen for the 41st Session of the South Caribbean Conference.
This theme will remain etched in our hearts and minds as each Devotional speaker reminded us that were it not for God’s grace we would have no hope of Salvation.
Dr. Myrna Costa Vice President of the Inter-American Division took us on a journey with the Spirit that set the tone for the rest of the session. Pastor Desmond James, President of the South Leeward Mission allowed us to understand the meaning of adoption. “God picks us out from many, brothers and sisters …. that’s Grace; it is God’s grace that picks us out and calls us His sons and daughters .”
Dr. Clifford Jones, Associate Dean of the Seventh-day Adventist Theological Seminary at Andrews University the feature speaker for the session watered our hearts and souls, as each devotional presentation inspired us to live by Grace, God’s amazing, marvelous, ‘scandalous’ grace.
Each devotional speaker in his/her unique style led us to have a greater appreciation of the dynamic facets of Grace, something we so easily take for granted.
By Sabbath August 6, 2011 we had indeed climbed the mountain of grace and were basking in the sunshine of God’s love. We can now unequivocally say, that “God’s grace is ultimately sufficient.”
