Haiti ADRA director to visit Trinidad and Tobago

The local ADRA chapter will be ADRA hosting Fritz Bissereth, ADRA Country Director, Haiti, to share with us and the public first-hand experience of lessons learnt from the devastating earthquake.  He will be accompanied by two officials and will be in Trinidad during April 14 – 19, 2011.

The purpose of visit is to share with the Church, Government representatives and other stakeholders some experiences and lessons learnt from the January 2010 earthquake which ravaged the city and killed thousands in Haiti.

The main objective is for citizens, stakeholder Organizations and leaders across Trinidad and Tobago to articulate some of the factors that can contribute to the resilience or destruction of property and lives during a disaster.

A visit to Tobago is included in the itinerary. A training and empowerment session for interested persons and volunteers is carded for  Trinidad on Sunday April 17, at a venue to be determined.
