Local church zone holds successful mega revival
The North North East zone of the South Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventist held a three week revival which culminated on Sabbath August 14th, 2010 with a grand baptism.
The event featuring the Union Evangelist, Ps Roosevelt Daniels was hosted by the eighteen churches within this zone. I was opened on Sabbath 24th July by Zonal leader Ps David Murphy. The opening sermon by the evangelist certainly set the tone of the Daniel and the Revelation Revival series and many who braved the unusual rainy weather over the weeks indicated being blessed by the event.
From the first day, Ps Daniels indicated that his intention was not to preach to promote baptism but rather to take the listening church back to the 'old paths'. The program continued nightly for five days and ended with a grand closing. The revival theme was principally prophetic but the evangelist was able to weave modern and current themes within the biblical prophetic setting to evoke the church to a call 'back to the bible'.
At least forty (40) persons were baptised at the end of the revival. Ps David Murphy, pastor for the Arouca/D'abadie district summed up the impact of the revival in this way: ' The greatest blessing was teaching of biblical truths that has stirred the church to return to biblical godliness.'
