Young Caribbean scholar launches second book
There's a lot of good happening happening in Adventistism and we take this opportunity to showcase at least one such member. Dr.Ian Williams, former member of the Couva Pioneer SDA church is a young writer who is the author of two books: You Know Who You Are (poems, Wolsak and Wynn, 2010) and Not Anyone's Anything a collection of short stories, to be published by Freehand books which is forthcoming in 2011.
Ian Williams received his Ph.D. in English literature from the University of Toronto in 2005 at the age of twenty five. He is currently a tenured professor at Fitchburg State College in Massachusetts.
Williams was born in Trinidad and attended the Couva Seventh-day Adventist Church, now known as Pioneer. His primary school before emigrating to Canada was Couva Anglican Elementary School.

Williams has held fellowships and residencies at Vermont Studio Center, Cave Canem, Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts, and Palazzo Rinaldi in Italy. He was a past scholar at the National Humanities Center Summer Institute for Literary Study in the United States of America. His writing has appeared in many American and Canadian journals.
He divides his time between Ontario and Massachusetts. Dr. Williams is the nephew of Sis Verna Mc Pherson, Health Ministries Director of the South Caibbean Conference.
