ADRA and TTARL Sign Disaster Responce MOU
Trinidad and Tobago Amateur Radio League (TTARL) and ADRA formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding yesterday, Monday June 21, 2010. 9Z4GB7 Michael Brown of TTARL and Aura Stewart-Henry (ADRA) committed their organizations to a more effective and efficient disaster response by ADRA.
The TTARL, established since 2004 , has agreed to support ADRA in the area of communication. Instead of using the mobile phones to respond, the League will provide radios that would link the ODPM, ADRA and the Field Officers on the scene of the disaster. ADRA has been responding to the Government’s call, through the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Management for assistance in the area of food, blankets, plastic roofing and more recently in the areas of Shelter management and operations, and Non-food items.
This memorandum of understanding allows these two humanitarian agencies to collaborate in other areas of communication that will broaden ADRA’s reach in its ministry.

Michael Brown (Government Liaison and Public Affairs Officer, TTARL), Mr Michael Green (President TTARL), Aura Stewart-Henry- ADRA Director of the Conference, Mr D. Drakes, Assistant Secretary, TTARL and Pastor Carlyle Scobie, Personal Officer of the Conference.
ADRA extends special appreciation and thanks to TTARL for their support, encouragement and willingness to partner. ADRA is present in 125 countries and serves people irrespective of race, ethnicity, class or religious persuasion.
Aura Stewart-Henry
Director, ADRA
