Religious Liberty Name Change

The Religious Liberty Department will in 2012 adopt the World Church name and as such will be called Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL) Department at both the Local Church and Conference Levels.

Ms Tenika Da Silva for IAD 2011 Bible Bowl

Twenty-one Seventh-day Adventist finalists from each of Inter-America's church territories will face each other to compete for this year's Bible Bowl winner's title on Dec. 10, 2011. This program will be held in in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

New Directors voted to serve

The Conference Executive Committee voted the following Directors, Associate and Assistant Directors to serve along with those elected at the Forty First Session for the next four years. 

Devotional Speakers SCC Session

  “Sustained by His Grace” was the theme chosen for the 41st Session of the South Caribbean Conference. This theme will remain etched in our hearts and minds as each Devotional speaker reminded us that were it not for God’s grace we would have no hope of Salvation. 

Eight ordained to gospel ministry

The auditorium of the University of the Southern Caribbean was packed to capacity as, friends, well wishers, church and family members, were in attendance to witness the ordination of eight ministers set apart for Holy Service.

New officers elected for the Conference

 The recently concluded 41st Session of the South Caribbean Conference climaxed with the instillation of a new team of officers to take God’s local church into the next quadrennium.   At the helm of leadership is Pastor Wayne Andrews, assisted by Pastor Paul Philbert   as Secretary and Pastor Donnie Balgobin  as Treasurer.

USC holds 78th Graduation Exercises

The University of the Southern Caribbean USC, held its graduation exercise on Sunday 15th May 2011 on the University grounds. This year over 400 students received undergraduate and graduate degrees in various disciplines. The class theme was Inspired by a Dream, Impassioned by a purpose, and Empowered for destiny!

ADRA to participate in Tsunami preparation

Following the devastating tsunami that struck Asia in 2004, and most recently the earthquake in Japan 33 countries including Saint Lucia are preparing to participate on 23 March in the first simulated tsunami alert exercise in the Caribbean.

Haiti ADRA director to visit Trinidad and Tobago

 The local ADRA chapter will be ADRA hosting Fritz Bissereth, ADRA Country Director, Haiti, to share with us and the public first-hand experience of lessons learnt from the devastating earthquake.  He will be accompanied by two officials and will be in Trinidad during April 14 – 19, 2011.
